Dubai has launched a new initiative called Itma’en, a free mental wellness support service designed to improve the overall quality of life across the emirate. Translating to “Rest Assured,” the service provides residents, citizens, and visitors with direct access to professional psychological support and guidance in a fully confidential environment.
The program is a collaborative effort between Dubai Health, the Community Development Authority (CDA), and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). This unified approach demonstrates Dubai’s commitment to making mental health a priority and building a supportive, healthy community for everyone.
Accessible at no cost, the Itma’en hotline can be reached by calling 800506. Callers are connected with trained counselors who provide confidential mental wellbeing support and professional guidance whenever it is needed. The service is available daily from 9:00 AM to midnight, ensuring that help is within reach at convenient hours for all.
In addition to providing direct support to the community, the initiative encourages specialists in medicine, nursing, psychology, and social work to volunteer through the Dubai Now app. Volunteers contribute by offering psychological first aid and reinforcing the emirate’s growing network of community support. This collaborative effort helps cultivate a culture where residents care for one another and strengthens Dubai’s mental health infrastructure.
The launch of Itma’en highlights Dubai’s ongoing dedication to fostering an inclusive and compassionate city. By providing confidential, professional mental health support to anyone in need, the emirate ensures that the wellbeing of every individual—whether a long-term resident or a short-term visitor—is recognized and protected.
