Changi Airport has achieved another remarkable milestone.
It has been awarded the title of World's Best Airport at the Skytrax 2026 World Airport Awards held in London on March 18.
This marks the 14th time Changi Airport has received this honor, setting a record since the awards began in 2000.
In addition to being named the Best Airport in Asia, Changi also secured accolades for World's Best Airport Dining, the World's Best Airport in the 60-70 million passenger category, and the World's Best Airport Immigration Service, according to UK-based consultancy Skytrax.
Furthermore, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has won the titles of World's Best Airport Hotel and Best Airport Hotel in Asia for the 11th consecutive year.
In this year's rankings, South Korea's Incheon International Airport took the second place, followed by Japan's Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) in third.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards were based on a survey conducted from August 2025 to February 2026, gathering responses from airport customers of over 100 nationalities.
The survey assessed customer experiences across various aspects of airport service, including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and gate departure.
AsiaOne has reached out to Changi Airport Group for further information.
Notably, prominent contender Hamad International Airport was absent from this year's awards.
In a statement on March 17, the airport in Qatar announced it would withdraw from all external exhibitions, conferences, industry events, activations, and awards programs during this time.
This includes a formal withdrawal from the PTE World 2026 in London and the World Airport Awards 2026, as stated by the airport.
"The safety and well-being of our passengers, our staff, and their families is, and remains, our absolute priority. We thank the aviation community for its understanding," the airport commented.
Qatar and other countries in the Middle East are currently facing retaliatory strikes from Iran amid its conflict with the United States and Israel.
