Will Dubai parking fees increase in 2026?

Motorists in Dubai may be wondering whether parking fees are set to rise in 2026. The answer, for now, remains uncertain—but discussions are officially underway.

Parkin Company, the city’s largest provider of paid public parking facilities, has confirmed that it has submitted a request to adjust parking tariffs in line with its concession agreement with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). According to CEO Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, the agreement requires the company to request a tariff review every two years, with the first scheduled adjustment falling in February 2026.

Al Ali emphasized that the move is part of a contractual obligation rather than an attempt to unexpectedly raise prices. He noted that any potential changes are subject to review, discussion, and final approval by the relevant authorities. “There’s no guarantee that rates will increase,” he explained, adding that the process is fully regulated by the government.

Dubai has seen steady growth in its parking infrastructure. By the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, the total number of parking spaces in the emirate reached 229,000—an 11 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. The expansion reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to improve mobility and accommodate rising demand.

Recent data also shows that the average hourly cost of paid parking increased significantly in 2025 following the introduction of a variable tariff system in April. During the third quarter of 2025, the weighted average hourly rate rose to Dh3.03, compared to Dh2.01 in the same period the previous year.

The company has formally submitted its proposal to the RTA, which has acknowledged receipt and will conduct a detailed review before referring the matter to Dubai’s Executive Council for guidance and final approval. If approved, the adjustments could affect both standard parking tariffs and the structure of seasonal parking cards, potentially increasing the city’s weighted-average parking cost.

For now, any changes remain under evaluation, and motorists will be informed should new tariffs be officially implemented.
