The UAE announced the extension of distance learning for students until Friday, March 6, in response to ongoing regional security monitoring.
This decision applies to all students, academic, and administrative staff in public and private schools, as well as universities. Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority also confirmed the extension in alignment with the UAE's Ministry of Education and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The shift to remote learning was initially announced on Saturday, February 28, coinciding with the start of Iranian offensive actions, with online classes running from Monday, March 2, to Wednesday, March 4.

During a media briefing on Tuesday, Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), indicated that a decision on resuming in-person classes or continuing with distance learning would be made within the next 24 hours.
Reasons for Transition to Distance Learning
The transition to online classes is a precautionary measure in light of escalating regional tensions, particularly following recent missile and drone attacks by Iran on Gulf states, including the UAE, amid heightened tensions with the US and Israel.
The Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research assured that developments would be closely monitored, with additional measures implemented as necessary to ensure the safety of students and the educational community nationwide.
In addition to the education sector, authorities have urged private companies to adopt remote work policies, and some public attractions have temporarily closed as part of safety measures.
Expectations and Precautions
Schools and universities are conducting online lessons following regular Ramadan timings, with adaptations made to exams and assessments to accommodate the current situation. The wellbeing of all individuals in the UAE remains a top priority, with authorities committed to enforcing necessary regulations to uphold safety.
